V50 Suspension noises
Hi,
When I drive with open windows I can hear sounds coming from under the car. It does not need to be big bump but just cracks and imperfections in the road. (I live in Montreal, there is a lot of those here). I sounds like if something was loose.
With the car on the ground I checked the sway bar links. None was loose. I rechecked with the car jacked (one side at the time) and again nothing seemed loose. I visually checked for bushing & sway bars bushings too but all looked like they were in good condition. Can link be worn but hard to detect with hands?
Is someone experienced sounds like this on an C30/S40/V50? If yes were you able to solve it?
Thanks!

Recreating the noise is key to figuring out what it is...
Try pushing down on the car on all corners to find what area to check for the noise. Sometimes ball joints are loose but the rest of the parts will keep the wheel tight when off the ground. Jack the wheel up and use a pry bar to push the wheel up.

Hi,
I finally found what was causing the noise. There was looseness between rear break pads and calipers. Because of this looseness and because extremities of the pads were very dry without any high temperature silicone lubricant pads were knocking at every road crack and small bumps.
I did not fix it yet but just by adding lube on rear end and extremities of pads everything should be easily solved.
