Warranty & Factory Scheduled Maintenance

Warranty & Factory Scheduled Maintenance
I purchased the factory scheduled maintenance package ($2700) and the volvo vip warranty ($2400) when I bought my '07 S60 2.5T.
I recently took my car to the dealer to have a lock repaired under warranty and the "technicians" left my seats, door panels, and floor mats dirty along with a scratchin the paint. The problem with the door was not taken care of after 2 trips, so I will now have to take it to another dealer to finish the job. Since I don't plan on having the dealer work on my car anymore in the near future (asside from warranty repairs) should I cancel the maintenance package and warranty I purchased? Does a new car really need a warranty? I drive slow and a combination of highway & town (roughly 12,000 miles a year). Any input would be helpful.

RE: Warranty & Factory Scheduled Maintenance
That is a decision that you will have to consider. Think about the reason you purchased the program in the first place. It would appear that you took your auto to a hap-hazard dealer the first time. If you reside close to another dealer I would pay him a visit and explain your difficulty with the first dealer and ask how he (2nd dealer) would handle your dissatisfaction. At that point you can reconsider your position. As to an extended warranty, please be advised that a Volvo is not fool proof and simply by perusing this site you will note a plethora of issues with the vehicle. Whereas I have an older c70 (2002), I do wish that I had purchased the extended warranty which gives one peace of mind. It is the ****ling little issues that are costly and irritating.

I noticed on some of the other threads a link to warranty4wheels.com, it is not accurate here is the real one below:
http://www.warranties4wheels.com I bought a 7/125 for 2500.00 for my S80 and have had 2 claims and no worries. Thought I would pass it on. Thanks.

I will say this only once. Extended warranty's are just a way for the company to make more money. They made over $5K more off of you then if you just hadn't purchased those two items.
My dealership can't fix a few problems on my 1999 s70 awd after repeated times taking it to them. They rip you off and half the time don't do what they are asked to do.
