Won't start-New starter/solenoid, battery, switch
This is not the typical no start problem.
I own a 1990 780 Bertone, 2.3L auto. Replaced the battery, starter, solenoid, key switch and checked the park/neutral switch. The solenoid engages or at least to the point you can hear a loud click at the starter. It will not engage the fly wheel some times. If I take a 24mm wrench to the main crank pulley at the front of the engine and turn slightly, it will usually engage and I'm on my way. Has anyone heard of such a thing? Very annoying problem I have not been able to resolve. Is it a problem with the solenoid engaging, or a problem with the flywheel? What about the crank sensor, would that be flakey or failing? Any suggestions?
This is my wife's car and she is not comfortable getting under the hood to turn the flywheel to get it going.
Thanks in advance.
