ES6T - thanks for the great insights you have shared here! I am wondering if you can help in whether I should add the 5 year 100k mile extension to a CPO vehicle warranty - 2018 XC60 T5 Inscription with 16K miles - one owner leased vehicle -just bought it - dealer wants $2800 + tax for the 5 year extension - I see it doesn't cover catalytic converter and some other items; is issued by a third party company - right now I get 2 years unlimited miles bumper to bumper. I haven't seen any major issues with this model so I am hesitant to drop that $ on an insurance policy I might not ever use. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Hi ES6T, I'm writing to you because of the leak-down test thread you had going in this forum. I have a pampered 1995 850 T station wagon with 300K miles on it which I have owned since new. I have performed a leak-down test and the results were inconclusive to my satisfaction.
    Leak-down test = Cylinder #1- 10%, #2 - 30%, #3 - 10%, #4 - 12%, #5 - 10%.
    Compression test = Cylinder #1 - 175 psi, #2 - 100 psi, #3 - 175 psi, #4 - 145 psi, #5 - 175 psi.
5 Mechanic(s) I trust in opinion, one says do a top end rebuild, another said an aluminium will never seal correctly again, another said replace with a lower mileage engine (100K -150K miles). Two have said the rings will be compromised by the new pressures. I'm inclined to rebuild the head. Based on what you are reading of this situation, what would your council be? I need a relatively reliable car for LA/ CA driving.

I have a question about the fuel system on my 2005 xc70.
I replaced a cracked fuel pump ring, and now it won't start. Before it started with no problems. Do I have to repressurize or bleed the system ?

Hey ES6T. Would greatly appreciate your input on a timing belt question. I totaled my '02 S60 this week and found a potential replacement 2006 with 97K that has not had the TB changed. In your opinion do I need to concern myself with a time element since it is 10 years old, or still just go by miles? Greatly appreciate your input!

hi es6t.....on some post yesterday you mentioned some engines being more reliable than others....made me curious about my 2000 v40, I bought new and have had zero problems...could you look up my engine code and let me know if it happens to be one of the more reliable units? thanks in advance...vid#yv1vw2555yf583169
