Have you actually experienced success with this or did you just find the information for the OP? The reason I ask is that I am having the same exact problem and when I spoke to my dealer, the parts guy said that the way he understood it was that this was for removing a Volvo dealer added alarm. He said they would be glad to try this for me for around $100, but I wanted to get a little clarification on the matter before I threw any money at it. Thanks in advance.
