Default S80 troubles

So my step daughter gives us a 01 S80 that just quit running , after inspection found power steering pump pulley desintergrated & serpentine belt shredded and wrapped itself around crank. After removing and replacing pump & belt engine turns but no start, will backfire now & then. Found wiring to 1st ignition coil on passengers side seems kinda melted . Could this be the problem? Is it normal for wiring to appear a little melted ? Any info greatly appreciated.

Timing is most likely out, bending valves.

thank you for the confirmation as I was told the same just earlier today from a newly acquired source. I wonder how one would confirm the bent valves ? I suppose it's necessary to actually tear the motor apart ?

Or re-time it and then do a cylinder leakage test if it doesn't start.
