New to the forum but not new to Volvo's. A week ago i found a 1995 850 Turbo wagon $650 bucks, Teal green for the wife. Runs perfect and looks great. Today i found and am proud to say the owner of a 1997 850 R, $1400 bucks, white with black interior. Cigars all around. Past owner of a 240DL and 740 Turbo and i can't tell you how much of a pleaseure it it driving these fine automobiles again. The one downside to owning a vehicle 15 years old is the maintenance that can and will come up. But i still find them a pleasure to work on and there is not much that the forum members have not seen or heard of. So excuse me if i ocassionally ask a dumb question. It feels good to be home. Ha honey the R is mine.

Congrats. The 850s have Porsche engineered engines. So if timing belts break... you know the rest. Check the stickies at the top of the 850 forum. It will probably have everything you need for stage 0 and some.

My rules have always been the day that you but it, you need to bring it back to stage 0 so you know what will fail and when.

I live by these words too. Unless it is brand new, you have no choice.
