The PPC 3 Diagnostic System has now been updated with some very handy functions! Now the diagnostic tool is usable for all car makes, not only for Volvo cars. (If you have already bought the product, you can of course download all these functions free of charge.)

Read, erase and save DTCs
The handy format makes it easy to carry the unit, and it also comes with a protective rubber shell. The connection to the car is done via a HDMI-OBDII cable without screws. The DTCs are presented with fault code numbers in the display and they can be erased if needed. Explanations to the generic DTCs are showed directly in the display, and the explanations to the manufacturer specific DTCs are showed at your customer site BSR - Din PPC after you have synchronized the PPC unit via the Internet. When synchronizing, the DTC history is saved for each car, and at the same time, the PPC unit is updated with the latest functions.

Generic DTCs are legally established trouble codes that are used by all car manufacturers. The meaning of a code is the same regardless of the manufacturer. Generic DTCs were introduced gradually from 1996 on cars following the OBDII standard. (Generic OBD-II compatibility was required as of model year 1996 in the USA, 1998 in Canada, and 2001 (gasoline) or 2004 (diesel) for the European Market.) The DTCs don´t describe a problem in detail but more in general terms. PPC 3 Diagnostic System can handle all types of generic trouble codes from all car makes that follow the OBDII standard. It is the generic DTCs that are read at the car inspection. With PPC you can erase these codes before the inspection.

Read all manufacturer specific DTCs from Volvo, Saab, VAG and Opel/Vauxhall
Manufacturer specific DTCs are the manufacturer´s own unique trouble codes. The number of manufacturer specific codes is larger, and they describe problems more extensively and specifically. In a car there are several control units that handle the engine, transmission, ABS, airbag, radio, air conditioning and much more. Unlike some cheaper code readers that also read manufacturer specific codes, the PPC 3 Diagnostic System communicates with all control units in the car, which means that it can handle all manufacturer specific trouble codes in a Volvo, Saab, VAG or Opel/Vauxhall, not just the most common ones.
