Default LF: 1997 GLT / 1998 GLT/ 4.4 Stock ECU on the cheap.

As stated, im in dire need of a 4.4 turbo ECU out of a 1997 GLT or a 1998 Turbo because i need a spare to be tuned for my 1997 AWD.

You need a 96 or 97 ECU. I would stay away from a 98 unless you never want your A/C to work again.

it would work perfectly because my car is 4.4, apparently all 97 GLT's were. i dont know if a 96 4.3 ecu would work.


i got an ECU, but i dont know how to verify its really a 97 GLT ECU. this one is auto so the codes wont match mine. Its to be chipped i can chip it as manual, but not to be a 4.4?

96 and 97 ecu's were 4.4 not all of them but some of them.
The 98's have a totally different A/C setup.

Try looking on IPD's site to tell what is 4.4 or 4.3

IPD doesnt list the 850 AWD, but ive had my car tested and it came out as 4.4.

the A/C still isnt the same even thought there both 4.4?

thanks for the info

anyway finally i bought a 97 GLT ECU, so it all worked out good, just have to stop being so lazy and ship it out to the tuner.
