2000 Volvo S80 Timing Belt Marks NEED HELP
Hello everyone long time lurker, first time poster. I was wondering about the timing marks on a 2000 Volvo S80 T6. I have seen two versions of the timing marks and I need to know which one is correct
1: The mark is the valley between two teeth (is there a mark for this in the valley, i think its this one cause the CVVT is in the right spot but the oil pump housing mark looks different...the oil pump housing looks like diagram 2, what gives???)
2: The mark is on the flange that secures the harmonic damper.
I am confused and do not want to muck this ladies engine up.
More specifics:
2000 Volvo S80 T6
B6284T 2.7 Turbo Automatic
113k miles (original t-belt D: )

RE: 2000 Volvo S80 Timing Belt Marks NEED HELP
Thank you for your response Tech! I guess I was unclear. My question is this:
My cam gears look like the first pic but the oil pump housing looks like the second pic. Should I just focus on lining up the cam gears like the 1st pic (yes i know its cvvt...) and lining up the crank gear like the second?
I guess a side question is in order too. Is the mark on the crank TDC? I could just spin the piston until TDC and then I would know what the mark would look like...

You can't see the mark on the crank with the harmonic balancer on. You CAN feel it though. It's a small bump or tit on the front of the crank gear. Front being the side closest to the harmonic balancer. When I did my 00 T6 recently I lined up the cam markings, then felt for the bump, on mine it lined up with a tooth on the sprocket and not between them. I colored that tooth with a paint marker so I could see it when I spun the engine. It's definitely a good feeling to know that crank gear is in the right spot, even if you know it should be.
