Default 07 c70 lower control arm removal

I have tried to remove the lower control arm and both connections to the frame came off very easily. I am trying to remove the final connection point to the wheel assembly. The replacement part looks like the threaded connection point just sits underneath and is attached by the threads and the nut. I saw pictures of an s40 with the same mechanism and the person said, just hit the threaded portion with a hammer to remove it from the wheel assembly. Tried, even tried hitting it with a sledge. Nothing. Any suggestions?

Check out Youtube for some of the vids on replacing wheel bearings on the newer c/v70 models.
