Default 240 wagon wheres is the overdrive relay?

i recently bought a 240 wagon 1991 and the car runs and drives great, but my gf accidently presssed the overdrive button and now i cant get it to go off, i went to my local junk yard and got a new button, but no luck, it wont go off at all.

if i pull the overdrive relay will it shut off the overdrive? and where is the overdrive relay itsself? i cant find a definitive answer

If you remove the glove compartment you'll see it to the left, behind the center vents.

The relay is up in the center console behind the left side of the glove box.Why would you want to turn off the overdrive?Pull the cover off the shifter, check the white wire where it goes through the floor to the od solenoid. The wire may be frayed and touching the body.
Also check to see if the fuse is blown I think it's #11

ive checked the white wire and the wires, i wont use the overdrive on the car so to me i dont really need it, and i dont like to drive on the highway which is what i am going to be using this car for the most part in 3rd gear i want to be able to use the 4th gear.

so if i disconnect the relay for the overdrive it will allow the transmission to shift into 4th gear right?

by the way i love this car, i got it for 500.00 the odometer stopped at 297,000 and the gas and the temp gauge arent working at the moment, but the engine and transmision run so good, if it does have as many miles as it says it does, the engine and transmission sure dont seem like it, the transmission is seemless and the engine is quiet. i am really happy with it, also the body other than the normal 18 year old paint on the roof semi oxodized is in perfect condition... im really happy with it

im also new to volvo, but not imports

Power has to be applied to the solenoid via the relay to enable 4th gear.

I spent a great amount of time changing relays, messing with the wires, etc ... finally I removed the solenoid and used a dremmel to grind a channel between the inner and outer holes, and removed the relay to prevent an accidentail short. I've had 4th gear non-stop ever since. But I can no longer lock out 4th gear.

This thing from IPD does the same thing:
