All Power Window not working after doing minor changes
#21
I doubt those motors are frozen, try jumping them from a battery.
I have similar window issues with my '92. Only the front ones work presently - Most of the time.
I think my problem is twofold, the window switches are old (~210k miles) and the fuse block probably had water get in there and cause issues (I had a small windshield leak that went unnoticed until the water from it froze in my shifter well, preventing me from shifting out of park O_x.) Some of the water likely splashed/dripped onto the fuse bank.
I'm guessing it's switches and fuses on my end, as futzing with either gets them going again. I'm planning on taking my fuse bank out and cleaning/resoldering.

I'm having a similar problem with my left, rear window now working that I'm getting ready to address. I found this thread and after reading about the speakers install and the problem beginning, I wonder if a ground wire at some point in the mixture is not your problem. I see that the problem was being discussed in May, 2014. If anyone has a follow-up with the solution that was found, I would greatly appreciate an explanation of how your problem was resolved. Thanks for all of the great help being given on this site. IT'S GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I'm sorry about that. The 240 is a 1991. There isn't any power at the left/rear switch. The other switches were working before letting the car sit for several months, but now none of the windows work from the drivers door or from their own switches. I'm just beginning to address this problem, but I've read some of the other posts which make me wonder if the relay could be the culprit. Someone has decided that they needed my radio more than I did while the car was sitting, so it is gone. Isn't the relay near the area of the radio? Any advice or direction will be greatly appreciated. (Pierce, I've read numerous posts of yours, and I'm really impressed with the number of people who owe you a tremendous debt of gratitude! Thanks in advance for your interest and help.)

Sorry about no conclusion on this one. I removed the back door panels. cleaned the window switches and looked for any possible bare wires. I did notice a speaker wire on left rear door was not connected but likely not the issue. All windows are working the last that I checked. I think the electric windows are similar to the auto door locks - look for exposed bare wires.

I'm still having trouble with the power window switches on my 1991 Volvo 240. None of them work, and the left rear window is half way down. I had power to the switch on the driver's door and to the left rear door.
After attempting to jump the connectors, I now have no power to the master switch or to the left rear door switch. I checked, and I do have power to #10 fuse, and the fuse is good.
Pierce, you indicated that the relay is behind the dash in the area below and to the left of the radio. Would this be the next item to check? Where do I go from here?
I have the Haynes Repair Manual, Volvo 240 Series, 1976 thru 1993, but it seems to have more information than I'm able to absorb to this point. Hopefully, someone can give me some further direction.
Thanks in advance.
