Could be coming from several different locations.Check the pinion seal,it's located on the front of the differential.(see pic)Check the rear diff cover, sometimes they will leak between the cover and housing.Check the rear cover,if it's wet it could have a small hole in it.I've had several covers that have had holes rusted in them. The fill plug is located on the rear cover, with the fill plug removed, stick your pinky in the hole. You should be able to touch the oil with the first joint of your finger in the hole,if you cant touch the oil you'll need to add some.Add oil until it just start's coming out of the fill hole,I use Lucas brand 75w-90 synthetic, you don't have to use synthetic, but that's what I use in all my cars.

Edit:You need to fix the leak first, then change the oil in the diff to synthetic. If you just need to add oil,use any quality brand 80w-90 diff lube.

Default Help locating differential fill plug?

Thanks for the advice and pictures. I can't seem to find any way to get to the top of the case to locate the fill plug. Could you take a look at my pictures and let me know if it's in the photo? Looks like it could be the one to the left center? THANKS!!

If the picture doesn't post here being too large, can I send it to you directly?

You can fix the leak by replacing the diff cover gasket and refilling it with fresh gear oil. If it's too much of a fight you can pay most shops to do it for less than $50. As far as car repairs go not too bad. I did my own for $10 gasket and around $8 for the oil. and I used a good quality 6 point socket and an 18' 1/2' drive breaker bar all the bolts came out fine.
