Need help with a couple of things
Ive got a 1982 245 wagon that i love to death.
My Volvo guy says that i need new torque rod bushings but i want to try and do it myself. Im not all that mechanically inclined but i did manage to remove/install my drive shaft when i needed new U-joints amongst other things. Does anyone have any links to how to stuff like this? I have a chilton book but doubt it even attempts this.
The shop wants 300$ + to do this and the parts are only 25 bucks.
Also does anyone know how to adjust the fuel/air mixture on one of these wagons. Every time i push in my clutch my idle drops and acts like it wants to stall (including 1 dash light flickers for a quick sec when it almost stalls). I dont even know what my "throttle body" looks like but i have cleaned the air idle control valve.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

You wont need it but you'll definitely want to have an air compressor for the bolts holding the torque rod/bushings. As long as you have a decent jack and set of jack stands it won't be too difficult to figure out...especially if you've already done a drive shaft install.
As far as your idle dieing with the clutch...i always forget the array of sensor these cars have but the problem might have to do with any number of them. Mass Air Flow, Idle Position Sensor, dirty Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve, Auto ShutDown relay (if it even has one?), fuel pump relay....the list goes on. Is '85 too early for the OBD I diagnostic? That'd be where I'd start. Pull the codes and see what pops up.
