Default 1984 242 Turbo question

I have a 1984 Volvo 244. I was wondering what I would need to do if I wanted to do a turbo swap. Do I need swap the whole engine or is there some sort of conversion on my existing engine?

You can modify it, but that is a pretty involved process. If you got a newer engine with a turbo, you could get a newer more modern engine management system. How much power are looking at getting?

I am looking to do a swap with another 1984 Volvo turbo or any compatible B21 Turbo. Do I need to swap the entire engine or can I just swap the head?

You would at least at least need to put a hole in the bock or pan for the oil return from the turbo. You would also need a feed. The 84 turbo had forged rods and crank, it may be better to stick with the whole engine. We'll see what some other people think too.
