Upper radiator hose hot...lower hose cold
1992 940 na
From what I've read this problem could be caused by 3 things...
Clogged radiator
Bad water pump
Or bad thermostat
I've torn it apart and the radiator ain't clogged
The pump is a oem Volvo pump with 35000 miles on it and it looks good...though i guess looks can be deceiving
The thermostat is an aftermarket from AAP and has 30000 miles on it
I'm gonna put it back together but was wondering if anyone had any ideas or suggestions.

If the radiator is not clogged, then take the thermostat out and run the car without it, easy test... Keep in mind now the weather is cooler and it may some time for the thermostat to open... Water pump impellers rarely fail, especially a metal one like the Volvo uses, so probably not the pump... You may also have a big air pocket if you have had recent cooling system work, that too would cause no circulation.

Finally got around to working on this.
What's the problem? Nothing I suppose but a hot upper radiator hose and a cold lower hose didn't seem right. Even the top of the actual radiator felt noticeably different when running my hand from driver side to passenger side.
Does it overheat? Couldn't tell with the flaky temp sensor that WAS in it. That sensor has been replaced and the needle on the dash stays at straight up noon when car is warmed up.
The car had a small leak from the plug. I fixed that with a stainless steel zip tie.
Replaced the thermostat and all seems to be well now.
Thanks to everyone.
