Default 1994 940 alternate fuel pump relay location

Hi all, I have a 1994 940 4 door reg 4 in-line engine 91,000 miles and the fuel pumps do not always activate with the key. I have replaced both pumps and the under car filter but cannot locate the fuel pump relay. The relay panel behind the fuse block in the center console has a slot for the relay but no relay and no wiring for the relay in the designated slot. (second row, first from the left). The pumps will sometimes come on for the second or two before start at which time the car starts and runs fine, but when the pumps do not activate with the key the car won't start. I have bled the fuel rail and checked all connections. There must be an alternate location for the fuel pump relay. Does anyone know where it is?

There is no alternate location to the best of my knowledge. It sounds like someone got creative in the last 16 years! The relay is white, rectangular and has, I believe 6 pins. There may have been a problem with the fuse panel melting and they wired around some how. The fuse panel will actually pull forward and allow you to see if there has been some re-wiring done underneath. I doubt the relay is too far away.

Default 940 fuel pump relay location

I was able to determine that there is an alternate location in the relay panel for the fuel pump relay. The common location is second row, far left for the 6 blade relay.
The five blade relay is in the front row second from the right and the relay is white or green but different from the six blade relay.

Wow...that's great to know! I've never run across that. AllData doesn't mention it at all (but that's no surprise!). So, did swapping it out fix it?

I have the same problem, with starting and then not starting, on my red 940.
I looked at the relay block, and no white 6 pin there, as shown in picture above, for TURBO MODELS...
I have 2 1994 940s, non have it.. There is the space for it, but no wiring pins in the socket...
P/S There is no burnt panel or wiring.....Both are empty....Will take Pics of mine, soon.

The turbo cars use a white relay in the position shown in your photo. The non turbo cars both bosch and regina use a fuel pump relay labeled 2/23 in the position shown below.

Thanks! I wanted to make sure it was 2/13, Not the 6Pin for turbos....That is the right one for THE NON TURBOS. I found out the hard way, and bought 2 Turbo F Pump relays.., Sellers on eBay should state, that they are for TURBO models. I also have only a fuel filter, [ Not a fuel filter and pump], in the middle of the Car. What pimp is recommended, for the TANK pump..
