Default When or if to clean the oil seperator

When replacing the head gasket on the 240, and since the intake is off, I noticed the oil seperator breather port 1/2 closed with caked gunk...is there a way to clean these...the flame trap is clear

Default RE: When or if to clean the oil seperator

I recently went to replace mine. After removing it I found that it was pretty clean so I just reinstalled it.If yours is half caked with sludge I wouldn't try to clean it. just replace it along with theo-ring. For both the oil trap and o-ring it should be about $40.
