Spark Plugs

Spark Plugs
I am reading here that one should go to the dealer for spark plugs. Problem is, the nearest dealer is not very close.
Checked half a dozen of the stores listed in the sticky and they were not listing the Volvo plugs.
So, where can I order the Volvo plugs online? Or, should I try to order the OEM Bosch FR6DC from Amazon?

Went to a distant, overpriced dealer. $53.38 (including tax) for part number 8642661. I BOUGHT THEM. These suckers were produced back in 2007 and are designed for th B280E/F non-turbo motor. The following info is for reference to help someone else reduce the amount of time they waste shopping around. Call the dealer, then compare to this info
Good news is that this matches the parts available at Genuine Volvo Parts Online | Volvo Parts Webstore . Bad news is they charge 13 for shipping bringing the cost to $44.23. Amazon has it nor for $44.76 including shipping. Another listing on Amazon is cheaper, but the word Volvo is not printed on the plug and the plugs are displayed independently making me skeptical that it is OEM. ebay cost right now: $41.43. FCP Euro is $39.99. I did find one on ebay for $34 with shipping. I should have done that, but I was still not confident in the part number. Save $20 and buy them on ebay.

you didn't mention which year or model. No need to overthink this or overpay. I happen to own an 850T and a S40 Gen I and use the copper core plugs from Bosch, Champion and Autolite, all with good results (all go for under $3 per plug). The older turbo models tend to like these better than platinum or iridium plugs with multiple electrodes etc. Key is to check the gap and match specific to your model (ie .028 or .030 for my two cars). Don't assume the gap out of the box is correct. The reference numbers on the plugs refer to the size and temperature range of the plugs, and whether they have a resistor value to suppress radio noise. Hotter plugs are better for winter start ups and in town driving, cooler plugs are better for high speed. The model cited in your owner's manual is the best bet for all around usage.

I have volvo number 272373 in my notes. I'm sure I got this from EPC or VIDA. It is $26 at tasca. This should be a beru plug with three electrodes.
Just took out Bosch FGR7DQE+ plugs that I ran for 49k miles. I think replacement interval is 50k. These are 4 electrode copper plugs used at Bosch suggestion. Number 7401 in the us catalog. My supplier has them for $19 for 6.
The Bosch plugs look great for their age and I will put them back in if the engine goes back together. If it continues to run I will buy the Bosch plugs again.
