1995 850, overheated, now wont start! D;
i got a used volvo, and it ran fine, but the water pump was bad, it wouldnt hold water at all... but i was dumb and trusted it to get me back home.. it overheated, and stalled... after i pulled over, and relized what had happend, it wont start anymore... it has fuel, spark, and compression... i have no idea why its not starting.. i had a guy look at it, and he said that the starter sounded like it was dragging, and that might be my problem- that its turning over too slow to fire properly,.. also turn signals are crap, they both blink when i use the turn signals, and theres a light on the dash that says something like "light falure"?? please help if you have any info!

Start at the beginning. Pull the battery and take it to an auto parts store and have it tested. If it tests ok then you should pull the starter and do the same thing. If it tests good you may have damaged the engine. You should pull the plugs and try to turn the engine over with a wrench. If you can't get it to budge or you really have to muscle it to get it to move and the battery and starter tested good you damaged the engine.
At that point you should run a compression test and see if it has enough compression to fire.
