1996 Key Fob - Battery Cover/Cap Missing?
I just bought a 1996 850 GLT, with all the trimmings, and boy is it a step up from the POS Toyota Pickup I used to drive. However, the key fob that came with the car has lost the little round swivel-lock battery cover on the back (and the battery too, of course).
Is there a way to replace this? I'd be perfectly happy with a MacGuyver solution - I'm no stranger to duct tape - but I'm wondering if there is a small metal contact on the back of the battery cap? I put a new battery in place, and taped it in tight, but to no avail... Unless I need to reprogram the remote?

I looked at my FOB and it doesn't have a contact on it.. My fob takes 2 batteries. Not sure if you have one or 2? Also, you will need to program your FOB so your car will recognize it... I would post pics of your for to make sure we are talking about the right one since there are apparently 2 different ones.
