1997 850 failed emissions test - suggestions
My 1997 850 failed its Colorado emissions test for first time since I bought it and wanted to get some insight as to what should be done so I don't get bent over by dealer. The car failed to pass the NOx and CO2 hurdle set by state of Colorado. I have read the it might be good to flush the fuel injector. Any other thoughts. I replaced parts with only genuine Volvo parts and have had no major repairs with the car, 121K miles.

RE: 1997 850 failed emissions test - suggestions
Hi Covolvo,
I would do the following:
Visit a local AutoZone or another auto parts shop where they provide free diagnostic service and see if there are codes stored.
Exactly how long ago did the car receive good tune-up? Please refer to the following thread FYR:
https://volvoforums.com/m_48928/tm.htm
Many things could affect those emissions numbers and without knowing precise service/operating conditions and testing the car myself, it is difficult to suggest much, other than the tune-up items I posted in the thread I introduced above.
I hope this gives you some ideas. Good luck,
JPN
