Default 850 turbo vs 850 t-5 differences?

I am looking at buying a used turbo wagon, and I am confused about the differeces between models.
I have seen GLT models advertised as turbo's, did they even come in turbo form?
Also some of the later models are labeled as T-5, and some are just turbo's, what are the output diferences between theese models?

Default RE: 850 turbo vs 850 t-5 differences?

I think it depends on the year of the car. In 98, for instance, the GLT had a low pressure turbo at 190 HP. The T5 and R had high pressure turbos with the T5 getting 222 HP and the R at 240. In 94 the only Turbo was the 850 Turbo and it was high pressure at 222 HP while the non-turbo had 168 HP (+ or -). 95 was the first year for the T5R at 240 HP while the regular turbo got 222. In 96 and 97 they had the T5 at 222 and the "R" at 240, and I think they also had the low pressure turbo on the GLT same as 98, but I'm not real sure about that. Anything with the "R" will have the highest HP and the T5 will have the high pressure Turbo. The ones with the low pressure Turbo and really not called Turbos just GLT. My 98 V70 is the GLT and it goes real well with the low pressure turbo. Not as fast as my 94 850 Turbo was and not nearly as fast as my 97 850R. Hope this helps, and I'm not positive about all that I said, but most of it is right.

Model Year 1993 thru 1995 850 Turbo is comparable to Model Year 1996 and 1997 850 T5

If you are shopping on autotrader, cars.com, ebay, etc

http://vin.stronghold.com/Lookup.aspx
You can determine model year using 10th position of VIN...
S - 1995
T - 1996
V - 1997
W - 1998

You can determine engine using 5th and 6th position of VIN...
53 - S70 T5 - B5234T3 - 2.3L 8.5:1 High-Pressure-Turbo (HPT) TD04-16T at 10 psi
55 - 850, 850 GLT - B5254S - 2.4L 10.5:1 non-turbo
