To be honest, trying various nylon items until you get the right gap seems like more work, and is less reliable, than pulling the clutch off and removing shims. Just measure the gap before you pull the clutch, measure the shims inside there and remove till you know you'll be back to .2mm - .5mm. Bolt it back together. It might take you an hour.

Not when you can have the entire job done in 20 minutes. Honestly, it just needs to be closer. Its not rocket science. When they stop working they are right on the edge of too big a gap. Any movement to get that gap smaller will fix the clutch. Just make the gap smaller with whatever method that floats your boat. It will work, just make the gap smaller.

Just got my a/c cooling again today, although I used the quickie zip tie method. But I saw it here previously on this excellent forum. Thanks to all.

Default does this apply to a 2006 c70??

I have a 2006 that is acting up the ac blows cold until the throttle is raised and then it's all over for the cold air. can my pulley be shimmed in this fashion? It seems that all of these posts are referencing older models
