odometer working / speedometer not?

Default odometer working / speedometer not?
Has anyone ever had this problem? My 1995 850's speedometer is erratic.
It appears that the odometer is working fine even when the speedometer is not.
If this is the case what needs to be replaced?

I would say bad Speedo.
If the odometer keeps working then I would say speedo is bad.
