Reverse gear went out in 1995 Wagon Turbo
so the reverse went out in my turbo wagon, and i can put it in neutral and push it back but i need to get it replaced. does anyone know of anything else that i can do other than getting a new transmission put in? it grinded while backing up at first then completely stopped working one day. would really like to get just the gear replaced if at all possible.

Sorry to hear that. I know you already realize this, but new trans would be easier. Fixing a trans is a fairly hard job. It is no cake-walk. Plus you have to pull the engine out and all that. Unless someone with more knowledge chimes in, you are gonna have to decide whether you are willing to either pay, or do the work yourself and putting in a used trans or taking the time to take the broken one apart is worth it. I believe those really are your only options. Sorry man

Reverse problems with turbo wagon
Okay, so I posted the other day about having problems with my reverse. Well, I went back out there tonight just to run through the gears and hope that I could get some better news. Well, I don't know if it's good news or not yet, but maybe ya'll can help. When I'm running through the gears, you all know how you can hear the engine shift into each gear and feel the slight jump as it does. Well, it does that with my reverse as well, but my car still won't move in reverse. The backup lights come on and everything and I can feel it shift into Reverse, so does that mean that there could be something other than the gear gone out that I could do to fix this? PLEASE tell me there is. I love this car and don't want to see it go, and this is something I hope I can get some help with. Thanks in advance, guys.
