Default Shift gear indicator light how to change?

I was wondering how do i change the gear indicator light? thanks in advance.

It is fairly easy but the bulb socket is unique to Volvo. I use Radio Shack 272-1092 (2 for $1.79) bulbs retrofitted into the sockets which is easy to do if you know how to solder.

There is a writeup in this thread on how to change the lamp. It is for aright hand drive car but it all works the same.

The ring around the cigarette lighteruses the same style lamp and I usually change it at the same time.

That is exactly the way I did it a few years back. The Radio Shack bulbs really work well.
