Default Turns over but won't start???

I know this could be a thousand things but I am wondering if anyone has any advise on where to start?

My wife drove home from work last night and everyting was great. Then this morning she went to start it and it won't. I tried it and it just cranks and cranks but doesn't kick over. There is no check engine light, I even ran the obd II anyway and it shows nothing. I looked under the hood and can't find anything unhooked.

I am hoping this may be a common thing and someone here can tell me what it is. That is probably not the case though.

Thanks!!! btw its a 95 turbo wagon

After it has been sitting for a while get in it and put the gas pedal to the floor before turning ignition on and hold the gas to the floor adn crank it.It might take a minute or 2 of cranking but it should fire up.

Some times the lifters bleed back while sitting overnight and thats why it doesn't start.

Try that and see what happens.Remember you might blow a bunch of carbon out the tail pipe when it starts. That is due to it getting flooded out when cranking and not starting.

If it doesn't start then back to basic's Fuel and spark.

Thanks for the reply dude but it didn't work. Then I checked the fuel pump fuse and it was good. So I turned the key on and went back and listened by the pump and I couldn't hear it running. Next I pulled the fuel line from the fuel rail and and had my wife turn it over and it didn't shoot out any gas.

I started to pull the pump but I can't get the plastic retaining nut loose. I gave up for now cause I have to get up at 4am to go to work. IPD is right down the street from my work so hopefully they have fuel pumps.

Did you test for power before trying to pull it out?

I'm not sure what you mean. But the answer is no. Do you mean to check the wires that conect to the pump with a test light? Sorry I've never done this before. By the way those pumps are crazy expensive!!!!!!

Yes test with a test light. When you turn the key on it will power for about 30 sec then turn off.
If you crank it the light should come back on.

If you have no power then look at the relay first to make sure it isn't bad.

Yes those pumps are like gold to Volvo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
