Universal Stereo instll, cant figure out
I bought a new radio and volvo kit to install a 1 din radio. But i cant for the life of me figure it out. When you slide the radio out, there is just one bar in the middle. How or what do i attach to this? There seems to be now screw mounting areas. Man im confused, i might have to pay for a install
Please help

Not sure exactly what you are asking, but the original radio just slides in and out on tracks on the side. There are two little clips on either side of the radio. If you use a sharp object to push them in a little they will pop out and then you just grap them and pull the radio out. Once it's out the wires just plug into the back via a wiring harness. For anaftermarket you will need to get a converter to plug into the wiring harness. How to secure the aftermarket in there, will be up to you.

I got factory radio out, but im unsure of how to use the mounting hardware that came with package. I cant seem to understand how it will hold radio from sliding out. It came with screws but where do the screw go? in the radio?

Im just not seeing the adaption with this kit, damn. But i did notice when the radio was out, that there is a cord attached to the cd changer plug. Where would the other side of the cd changer cord be? i found a connector in the back of the wagon, under the lift up floor board, that seems to be un attacvhed to anything, could this be the cd changer connector?

Some cars had the CD Changer wire run to the rear even if they did not come with a CD Changer. Makes it great if you want to put one in, since you don't have to run the wire. Can't help you with the adapter kit. Looks like you need to make the radio you bought look like the sides of the factory unit by using the stuff in that kit. Good luck.

Do you mean that its purpose is to fill the emply DIN slot that is left over after installing the single DIN radio? If so how do you tighten the radio? You shouldn't leave it loose in the top DIN, 'cause if you get read ended the radio will definitely come flying out and it might hit somebody in the face.

I will post pictures tonight. The radio is held in the DIN by bending the metal prongs on the radio case, so it cant come out unless i use the keys to release it. Im very happy about it. I got a sanyo with the security face for $30 from a buddy, complete with installing wires. My wife had a stereo stolen from her Volvo 240, busted window and everything. So i wanted something that was kinda more deterent then the obvious aftermarket cd player face, plus i didnt want to keep detaching the face. Its not the best radio but it sure as heck beats a cassette player .
