Man, where is my egg timer. Most people don't keep a car for more than 6 years. Let alone a 13+ year old car. I would bet that less than 10% of the owners of these cars that are 2000- will keep the cars for more than 4 years. I'm not saying that the car wont last, I'm saying the owners wont.

How could anyone ever sell their Volvo

I worry some clown is going to T bone me while texting. If so it would be a great parts car, most of the stuff in the suspension and under the hood are new.

I've dumped so many parts into this thing I have to keep it at least 5 years to get some value out of it !!

Well think about it this way... how many of us are the original owners of our cars?
I am but thats not the point. Most people dont keep a car for longer than 3-5 years.

For example... Look at Radio16.. Loved his volvo, but thousands into mods, but now he is selling...

Another example my mother gets a new car every two years, trades in, gets better financing, but she does 20k to 30k a year.

It has nothing to do with the car and the love for the car it has to do with the fact that we live in a disposable world.

@ Kiss, stop texting while driving.

That's my point. I'm the 4th owner of this wagon, 3rd registered owner. The first owner had it till '02. The 2nd owner had it till the tranny started going out, till '10. The third owner never registered the car, likely because of his meth addition and that's how I got it. So, technically I'm the 3rd owner.

Now I plan to own it until someone buy's it from me for some outragious price. Then I'll either get another yellow one or a '98 S70 T5 -M.
