FOUND parasitic draw (battery drain). Now what?
Hello all!
I have seen people with similar issues but am unsure where to go from here. My battery drains very quickly when the car is off (sometimes as quickly as two days left in the garage), and I have tested for parasitic draws across the fuses. I found ONE fuse which seems to be related to the culprit, 11C/15, related to courtesy lights, glovebox light, power windows, and some other non-essential systems.
What can we do about this? If I pop the fuse out, I lose power windows. Is there any way to further isolate the draw and interrupt/disable just that one connection? We've been to the dealer numerous times and they never have a real solution.
Thanks for any input!

Well, if I was going to suspect something, I'd suspect the glovebox light. The other courtesy lights could be on, and you should look at the car in the dark just to make sure. Trunk light is also a possible culprit.
Normally, when battery runs down on a car, the courtesy lamps are the culprit. It used to be hard to check whether lights went out behind closed doors, but now you can just put your phone on video and close it up in the glove box.

I never found a real solution, however the workaround involved buying a brand new cold-weather battery and removing the fuse in question. We just kept the windows rolled up all the time.
The problem did not seem to be related to any lights or anything that were persistently on; it was a parasitic draw with no way to disable the drain without actually rewiring the components in question.
Yanking the fuse that showed the draw kept the new battery from dying, but its not really a solution; just a sad compromise.

I've been battling the same issue with my 2005 xc90. Finally got it fixed. Mine was caused by a bad alternator..I replaced my battery and hadn't had any issues in a few months and just the other day went to start it dead. charged it was all good. next morning dead. 3 days in row.. Charged it up and took it to my buddies shop. he s spent hours with a Flir camera, pulling fuses and using his meter. The wire going to the alternator was pulling a ridiculous amount of juice disconnected the alternator wire and the draw disappeared hooked it up and the Meter went crazy. It was an expensive fix to replace the alternator on my T6 but glad we finally found out what it was.
