If you have the hand-held remote control for the garage door opener, you can use it to program your car's opener from inside the car. The instructions are in your car's owner's manual, if you still have that. That's the method I use. My wife drives our Volvo, and we're both at our jobs now. If you need me to, I'll look up the procedure this evening and post it here. Let me know.

A garage door opener is a motorized device that opens and closes garage doors. Most are controlled by switches on the garage wall, as well as by remote controls carried in the garage owner's cars, or more rarely, on keychains.

On my 2013 F350, I have the garage door opener remote mounted on the visor. This is the older system that has 3 buttons each having its own LED light above the button.
I have this set up to operate two of my garage doors, both of which are push-button memory rolling code openers.
My problem is that the driveway entry gate is a single standard code....yes we are talking old-school DIP switches.
I have read the owner's manual, and I have tried searching YouTube garage door repair Chesapeake. The only video I have found is from Ford and of course it works for them.
I have followed the owner's manual directions step by step over and over and over, yet I can't get the button to program and open the gate.
Over the years, has anyone found a secret to getting this task done?
My wife's Taurus SHO is a 2013 but has the newer 3 button, 1 light remote which I was able to set to open the driveway gate, but this truck is about to drive me nuts.
