Default Power Antenna

Well the other day I came back to my car after running some errands and found that somehow my power antenna was bent in half. Which is odd to me since it should have been retracted after turning the car off.

Either way, I fixed it enough so that it goes down but about 2" remains extended at the end. I understand that you can replace the mast rather then replace the whole thing.

Dealership wants to charge me 60 for just the mast. While on E-bay there are set ups for complete power antennas for C70's for 25 bucks. But not sure of the quality and if they are truly made for C70's. Anybody have an experience they can send my way? Thanks!

Unless it recently changed you can't replace just the mast you need to replace the entire motor and mast.

On my c70 I drove through an auto wash when first new and did not even realize that there was a retractable antenna. At any rate, the dealer simply changed the mast which included the white nylon 'strip' inside the mast. $60.00 seems reasonable for the labour and the part. What you are probably getting on ebay (I did not look at the site) is a generic assembly.............one size fits all.

You got lucky. Here they won't sell/replace the antenna mast by itself only the motor assembly.

TECH, I'm almost positive that IPD sells the mast separately. I have seen it advertised before and I thought jeez had I know that I would have changed it myself! I bought my c70 after seeing one in Tampa on a Suday as I was returning the rental. I knew it was a Volvo because of the grille. Monday I called the dealer.............he did not have one and I found one in Cincinati and bought it on Tuesday. I hadn't even been in one let alone looked at one up close..............what I saw in Tampa was an auto that I simply had to have in silver and I got it! I drove it home (north) Tuesday night and hadn't the foggiest idea what the ***** and etc controled. I did figure out how to operate the radio and when I arrived home I drove right to an auto wash (it was winter) and found out that the antenna was external and cost me better than $100.00 the next day to replace!
