Default 2001 S40 air intake recomendations

Hi All,

I am just checking in here to make sure that the intake I am looking at here 57-0572 - K&N 57i Series Kits, Performance Air Intake System direct from K&N is the correct one for my vehicle?

it says it's for a 2.0 Volvo s40, mine is badged 1.9t, but I've been reading that the engine is actually the 2.0 low pressure turbo. Hoping someone can confirm this will be the best fit.

To be honest I didn't want to use a K&N since this is a European car, I was hoping for some sort of cool euro spec intake, but I haven't the slightest on where to find one, tried CarID and a couple other places and couldn't find one.

Thanks a lot guys!

I don't think that one is for you. All North American 2000-2004 Volvo S40 engines are 1.9L Turbo engines. The 2.0 is a UK diesel engine.

I think you need this one.
33-2763 - K&N Replacement Filters, Replacement Air Filter direct from K&N

It's just a K&N element placed inside the stock air cleaner box. Make sure the cold air tube is intact and still attached properly.

Default Wiki article RE 1.9 badged vehicles in north america

"The low (2.0T) and high (1.9 T4) pressure turbo variants were positioned at the top of the motor range. The 2.0T was rounded down and badged as 1.9T and was the only engine available in North America."

This is straight from Wiki, I am not 100% on it though. The kit looks like it would fit on the car, but I need to be sure if spending that kind of money.

Good luck! It's very expensive. I hope it works.
