2005 S40 CD player stuck at "Ejecting CD"
Hello!
My wife's recently purchased 2005 Volvo S40 T4 AWD has a problem that neither of us noticed prior to purchasing. We tried inserting pressing the CD button, all we get is this message with recurring mechanical sounds like it's trying to eject something:
As far as we can see, there's no actual CD in there. But there might be!
Anyone know how to fix this??
Thanks in advance!
Tony

I've heard that this is fairly common where CDs get jammed. The dealer replaces the unit and sends it out to some repair shop and that shop send you your CD.
If you don't have a warranty, you could probably remove the unit, open it up and remove the CD. That is assuming that there is a CD stuck. Otherwise, I see the CD players on Ebay often.

HA! Old wins! Except 2 of my bulbs behind the numbers are out and the dealer will only change the whole thing. $600.

If you want to pit the older generation S/V40 reliability against the newer generation, I got some stories to tell about my 2002 S40. I swore I would never buy another Volvo as long as I lived and if I ever walked into a showroom and started looking, the salesman was under orders to bounce my a** out onto the curb. That is until my S40 got totaled and I walked away without so much as an aching back.
I looked hard at replacing the '02 S40 with an '04 V40 but after I drove the V50 T5, the decision was made. Volvo is for life and I can put up with a few annoyances for it.
Ok the stereo in my S40 was superior in some ways, but then again it was made by Alpine, MB Quart and Polk Audio.
