Default Dashboard lights not working

I have a 2002 Volvo s40. When you turn the ignition key to start the car are all the warnings lights on the dashboard supposed to come - temporarily?

At least one of mine does not and I consider that either a burnt out bulb or maybe the power is not reaching the dashboard warning light.

Either way I am assuming that something is wrong if a dashboard light does not come on (even for a second when I turn the ignition key to start it) to start the car..

Thanks un advance.

Respectfully,

Yes, they all illuminate initially and then go off once the car has started.
Any that stay on indicate a fault barring the handbrake one of course.

Default and the converse

Conversely, if any light does not come on during engine start, I guess that we can assume it is a fault in the circuit or a burnt out light?
