Default leaking oil pan again

The oil pan on my 2002 Volvo s40 automobile is leaking. I do not know how to fix it.

I take it into a garage and no mechanic will touch it because the oil is leaking.

The oil pan has already been drilled and a new larger plug has been added. I really do not want to buy a new oil pan; is there any alternative?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Respectfully,

If its leaking from the plug and it has already been modified, replace the pan.

Is it coming from the plug or could it be from the turbo oil return line?

You may be able to get a used pan or one off ebay. They don't look too hard to replace.

I too would question the source of the oil leak. Where exactly is it leaking? The plug, a crack, the oil return line, the gasket? You can use fluorescent dye and a black light to pinpoint the source of the leak.

Okay, I believe that I must replace the oil pan. It is too risky to drive around with a leaky oil pan.

I will try and get one used, but I need to know how big a job is this?

It does to require more than just a replacement oil pan. Say gaskets are required to
seal the pan once a replacement has been found and installed. Is there a gasket kit available?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Also, someone said that secondary oil pan is required. What are they talking about.

On a 2002 Volvo s40 once the oil pan is removed there is a secondary pan that must also be removed. What is this about and what is the secondary oil pan's part number?

I think that there is no doubt the oil pan must be replaced, I am just getting prepared for the job and I need some direction.

I got an oil pan for my 2002 s40 Volvo from Amazon for about $ 170.00. It did not fit, in spite of what the fitment software that Amazon uses for checking whether a part fits your car said.

I should have known. There is no way you can get a 2002 Volvo s40 oil pan and gaskets for that price.

I am asking now where can I get a reasonably priced oil pan for this car. Also, I need the gaskets and the all other accessories.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

For those who have responded... at which point would a leak originate that would leak directly onto the exhaust? This is my current issue.

check the turbo oil return line seal - you may need to remove the heat shield to get a look see (at least on my 850 that's what I do)
