Default Purchasing a MAF for my Volvo s40

I am about to get a new mass airflow sensor (MAF) for my 2002 Volvo s40. There are basically two choices. The first is a Bosch MAF for $ 50.00 and the second is a Volvo MAF for twice that price or about $ 100.00.

Now it could easily be that the Volvo MAF is just a Bosch MAF with the Volvo name stamped on it instead of Bosch. I am just wondering which one I should buy.

So what should I do spend $ 50.00 or $ 100.00 dollars?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Respectfully,

The Volvo OEM MAF is probably a Bosch, but the issue you will have is that Bosch makes many versions of the MAF. The issue to me would be whether the Bosch is the exact matched part or a cross referenced "compatible" version. I've seen a few posts (particularly on the 850 board) where the aftermarket MAFs didn't exactly meet factory specs and threw a code or ran poorly. Then again, MAFs can get blamed for problems that are not directly caused by the MAF so replacing the part needs to be carefully vetted
