S60R Wheels
Hey all,
I picked up a '09 S40 last weekend and I love it. I've got some cosmetic stuff that I need to fix/work on, one of them being the wheels. I tried to clean then the best I could but it looks like the brake dust had pitted the wheels pretty badly, and there's quite a bit of curb rash as well. My plan was to wait til spring and buy a set of S60R wheels and some lowering springs and put them on, just like in the picture attached. Any way I just wanted to make sure that there wouldn't be any fitment issues, if anyone has any experience with them.

The wheels shown in the pic are called Pegasus. Excellent choice IMHO. You can find them both OEM and aftermarket in 17x7s and 18x7.5s - proper +1/+2 tire sizes for the S40s are 205/50-17 and 215/45-18s. Note that the recommended offset for the 09s is ET50 (I think factory wheels are ET52 - check your rims for stamping). If you pull wheels off an S60s just note that the first gen used ET40 and went to ET50 in 2010. both should work on your car The ET40s will be flusher to the fender lip... but I can't say with 100% certainty about the S40s but its common in the VW community to put Audi wheels with less offset to get a flush look - provided you keep to the proper tire width you should be ok.
