Default TPMS tire pressure warning

So I checked all the tires including the spare...all good. Now what Ive been reading is that these sensors need to be replaced after about 100k. Anyways I can get around buying new sensors?

Please advise and thanks for reading

Is it just the low tire light or the Tire Pressure Monitoring System Service Required message?

usually the problem is with the stems getting dirty or corroded from road salt etc. not the sensors. You can replace the stems with the tire change over for a minor cost.

Thanks for the info and feedback!

I'm getting both the TPMS icon and also the error message...tire pressure low.

If you aren't getting the Tire Pressure System Service Required light, you may just need to reset the sensors. With the car running, lower all tires to about 20 psi and then fill them to 36.

If that doesn't work, you may need a special tool.

I'm getting both the error message and the icon on the left, I'll try to lower the pressure and bring it back up. Also will look closer at the stems, replacing stems, is that easy...or expensive?

Thanks again everyone for the help and insight

The icon and message go together. Its the specific message that makes the difference.

Okay then that means there is a problem with the system, most likely a sensor or sensors.
