Troubleshooting power seats not working
Hey everyone I have moseyed on over here from swede speed seeing as though it's rather quiet around there these days. I have a 2007 s40 with power and heated seats and the power seats have both stopped working. It has the sunroof and the drain was pulled apart resulting in a glorious clean and dry. No fuses are blown. I dunno if any wires are cut somewhere or corroded so I am looking to get some help tracing wires or guidance as to what voltages I should be looking for on what wires to see if something has lost its continuity or if a ground is bad anywhere . How do I test the switches? It's driving me nuts because I can only sit 3 ppl in there because the wife was sitting thug life before it failed
. Any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers everyone

Did they work for awhile after the clean and dry? Was the interior taken apart? I ask because if they failed right after the clean and dry then I would suspect someone left a wiring harness loose. Either overlooked a connection or the connector isn't fully seated. I had a similar problem with the brake fluid level sensor. The connector was not fully pushed in until it locked so it looked good from a distance but it continually gave me the low fluid warning.

No they weren't working prior to tearing out the interior. I did it myself and have triple checked the connections. I am trying to locate a wiring diagram so I can start testing the wires. Nothing appears to be broken but something's going on. Its strange that both don't work and I only found water on the drivers side. Does the drivers seat preceed the passenger seat in the circuit or are both seats fed separately ?
