Default Water temp sensor or thermostat?

Hello everybody, I am new here and have a couple of questions? Pulled a code because cel was on and if I recall p0128 which leads to thermostat or temp sensor. I think I've heard that the temp sensor is the likely culprit but your input can possible save me time and money! Is there a factory service manual available for this, it is a '03 S40 and I do not know where this sensor or thermostat is located. Any and all help greatly appreciated. Thx

Did a search and looks like I will just replace both. Can somebody please tell me where the housing is? I have not worked on this vehicle yet...

Find the upper Radiator hose and follow it to the engine. That will be the housing.
