Default 2004 S60 Alarm Problems

I have a 2004 s60. Last night at about 1 AM the alarm starts going off. I am out in the country and there was no one around, The key fob would not turn it off. Manually unlocking the doors and putting the key in the ignition would not turn it off, The car would not start. The fob will lock and unlock the doors, but not turn the alarm off. I finally had to just unhook the battery to shut the siren off. I got up this morning and as soon as I reinstall the cable the alarm comes on. When you try to start the car with the key there is a loud "clicking" under the dash and the car will not start. I assume the alarm is not letting it start. It is setting in the driveway with the battery unhooked. can anyone tell me how to fix this or what the problem is.

Try oping and close the the driver side door five times. It may reset the alarm to the lesser mode.
It worked on my 202
s60.

Well, after leaving the battery unhooked all night, I reconnected it and the alarm was still going off, but I hit my alarm button on my fob and it went off (at least for now). The remote was locking and unlocking the door, but soon after it stopped. The car still won't start. A loud clicking sound under the left side of the dash, This does this when the key is turned to the position before start and then gets very loud when you try to actually start it.

Does your Volvo have an Interior Motion sensor? (Look at the switches below the climate panel, if there is a switch with a picture of a car with lines above it then you do.) If you have a motion sensor, press the button for 2-3 seconds with the ignition in position 1. That will put the alarm into reduced mo
