If you are using fully synthetic, I believe you have to keepusing it. If youare using a blend now, You can keep using that.I wouldupgrade to fully synthetic. Your motor will love you if you do.

I agree with this. Go ahead with full synthetic. I, personally, use Q Synthetic.

I would recomend using Synthetic on ANY TURBO car, Volvo Recomened you use synthetic also.

Regular/Blend oil probaly isnt good for a high speed/ temp. engine

The owner's manual for my '02 S60 T5 says the following:

Operation in temperate climates
Incorrect viscosity oil can shorten engine life. Under normal use when temperatures do not exceed 86° F
(30° C), SAE 5W/30 will provide good fuel economy and engine protection. See the viscosity chart at
right.

Extreme engine operation
Synthetic oils meeting SAE 10W/30 and complying with oil quality requirements are recommended for
driving in areas of sustained temperature extremes (hot or cold), when towing a trailer over long
distances, and for prolonged driving in mountainous areas.

Changing oil and oil filter
Oil and oil filter changes should be made at 7,500 mile (12,000 km) intervals.

Volvo does not recommend the use of oil additives.

Synthetic oil is not used when the oil is changed at the normal maintenance service intervals.

Personally I use normal 5W-30 in the winter when the temperature ranges from 30F to 60F and
10W-30 in the summer when it ranges from 70F to 100+F. When I hit the 90k mark I will probably
start using oil labeled "for high mileage" which is only $3 to $5 more per 4QT jug.

If you choose to make the switch to synthetic and plan on flushing your engine before using fresh oil,
pay close attention to the warnings on the flushing fluid. Some have warnings on the back which do not
recommend use on a turbocharged motor.

Hope this helps you a bit.
