so i just got my s60 today, its a 2003 with 105,000 miles and its in great shape, i got it for 4,900 which i thought was a steal, but anyways. the console is actually in good shape, no pealing gray/black paint, but the cup holder gaiter is broken, and i hate the old style console and glove box anyways, so if i bought a newer console on ebay, would it be a direct replacement, or would it be impossible to do?

 

It should be a direct replacement.
