Default engine swap

I am new to this forum, but I am wanting to find out about something. I have a 1998 S70 GLT volvo that is wrecked. The motor is still good though and a lot of other pieces are good also. I am looking at buying a 2001 S60 of which I believe at this time is a T5. So, according to my research my 98 has a 2.4L turbo and this 01 has a 2.3L turbo. So my question is would my 2.4L bolt into the 2001 car? So why I am asking this is because the guy that owns the 01 is selling it because it needs new oil o-rings, but I was told that if the car was started up and driven at all, the motor could be bad, is this possible or what do you feel? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

your 98 glt motor is different from the s60 in how the plugs are fired. The GLT uses a single coil where the s60 uses one coil pack per cylinder. The GLT is a low pressure turbo and the T5 is a high pressure turbo. Way too much work to switch over all the electronics to match.
