DriveE erratic shifting

DriveE erratic shifting
On our 2015 V60 DriveE fwd, sometimes( maybe 6) the transmission will not shift out of first even at constant throttle. The rpms will sit at 3000 to 3200 and when it finally does shift, it drops all the way down to 2000-2200 which means it's skipping several gears. This has only happened when the engine is not fully warmed up and it's cold outside. If this happened all the time under similar conditions, I would assume that the computer is trying to minimize emissions.
Again, this is with a constant throttle/constant speed. Anyone had any experience like this? I know at some point it has to go to the dealer but I dread the "we couldn't make it do it" response even though I understand that's it tough to diagnose something if you can't duplicate it.

I can't make it do it on purpose since it just seems to happen at random. When it gets time for the first oil change, I'll mention it as a possible problem if for no other reason than to document things.
When our 2001 Caravan was new, it would hesitate and lightly buck at very light acceleration. It went back at least 6 times for the same problem and even though the service tech could feel it, he could never fix it. 7-8 years later, I finally got really tired of it and after eliminating the possibility of any vacuum leaks, replaced the EGR and it finally drove like it should have when new.

I finally decided to take the car in since it has been cold here and it pretty much was doing it every day. The service report said that there was corrupted software. With a reflash, all is good.
I had narrowed it down to the outside indicated temperature on the display had to be below 25 degrees and the engine cold.

Now that the T5 has been out for awhile, I wanted to bring this issue up again. It just turned really cold here and like clockwork, the transmission won't shift under the same conditions. Last winter, I drove as far as 3 miles with the engine at 3,000 rpm until the engine finally would warm up enough to allow upshifts. I find it hard to believe that Volvo intentionally engineered that into the software.
When I took it in last winter, I had hoped that they could could simulate the outside temperature sensor but they said that wasn't possible.
Has anyone in northern climates seen this issue and were you able to get it resolved?
