Talking first volvo! s60R former audi owner an hints?

As of a few hours ago, I drove it home...
any hints on timing belt woes? control arm bushings? turbo problems? anything that jumps up and says take care of me?

103K on the clock, car is strong as all get out.. very nice..

So happy to have this and not a smoking B6 A4

You should make sure the car had the throttle body software update, you can find out by running the VIN. In my case, the update didn't work so Volvo replaced my entire throttle body for free, and even threw in a free rental.
I guess there was a recall.

Default My two cents

I bought my S60 used with 150k on it, here are my maintenance suggestions:

1. you are at 103k, service point for timing belt is 105k so it is critical you get this done now. Do belt, idler pulley, tensioner all at once. Some have recommended water pump replacement while doing the timing belt, others say every-other time unless weeping.
2. As to suspension/control arms, when I got mine at 150k I had to do the control arm bushings, ball joints, spring seats, tie rod ends, and sway bar links. I don't know if the previous owner only drove on potholes or if this is typical. It was about $500 for everything and now it handles like it's on rails. I suggest having it checked periodically. Sway bar links and spring seats are common replacements I've noticed.
3. In general, follow the maintenance schedule religiously. What I've noticed from most owners is if you do the maintenance when they say, it'll last forever, neglect it, and you are sorry. The most noticable item for me was when I did spark plugs - 150k and suddenly car is "strong as all get out".
4. Follow octane recommendations - midgrade at a minimum, or read all the discussions here.
5. When I bought the car, I called the Volvo USA 800 number, gave them my VIN, the gave me the status of recalls (all complete on mine), told me about what is still under warrentee (ETM), and registered my name and address (for recall notification if needed - haven't gotten adverts).
