Default Can a drop in battery voltage cause computer / transmission issues

hi all,

I have a 2001 S60 with 160K. Transmission rebuilt at 157K.

Since the tranny was rebuilt, I've once already had to take the car back to the shop for computer software adaptation.

Today i had to do it again (after a total of about 5K). Below is the report from the garage:

Inspection Result - Recommend
Inspection: SCAN TEST COMPLETE. FOUND DEFAULT CODE 002F LOCK-UP FUNCTION SLIPPING OR NOT ENGAGED. RECOMMEND TO START BY PERFORMING A SOFTWARE RE-ADAPTATION AND RE-CHECK AFTER.

Their explanation was that the drop in voltage caused this issue ... The car was sitting in the garage for some time, without being driven (which is true) and the drop in voltage caused the computer to create the error code.

I am not sure what to believe ... my thought at this point is that they've not done a good job with re-build, but I don't know.

Can anyone share their expertise on this?

Rado

Low voltage can set some codes, but not that code.

That is usually a problem with that solenoid or a mechanical fault in the transmission.

A TCM software update may help, I'd have to check the bulletin to see if that code is listed.
